The cheapest web hosting per year in India right now is a tie between MilesWeb Starter and Hostinger Single, both about $8.70 a year before 18% GST, and both only if you pay for three to four years upfront. Buy for just one year and the cheapest real option is GoDaddy Economy on its India site at about $25, which then renews at about $76 a year.

That gap is the whole story. Indian hosting ads show about $0.73 a month, but that rate needs a long term, and the renewal price is often three to six times higher. Below we compare five popular hosts on what you pay in year one, what you pay per year on average, and what the bill looks like when the offer ends. Every price was rechecked on the official pricing pages on 20 October 2026.

Quick answer: The cheapest web hosting per year in India in October 2026 is MilesWeb Starter (about $26 for 36 months) or Hostinger Single (about $35 for 48 months), both about $8.70 a year plus 18% GST and sold only in rupees. Hostinger renews at about $3.04 a month. GoDaddy India's one-year Economy costs about $25 but renews at about $76. Paying in USD? Hostinger Premium ($119.52 for 48 months, about $29.88 a year) is cheapest here.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? MilesWeb Starter is ₹2,484 for 36 months and Hostinger Single is ₹3,312 for 48 months on hostinger.com/in (₹69 a month on both), Hostinger renews at ₹289 a month, and GoDaddy India's one-year Economy plan is ₹2,388, renewing at ₹7,188 a year. All exclude 18% GST.

How we compared prices

We looked at the entry shared hosting plan of five hosts that Indian beginners search for most: Hostinger, MilesWeb, BigRock, GoDaddy and Bluehost. For each, we noted:

  1. Promo monthly price and the term it needs (12, 36 or 48 months).
  2. Total you pay upfront, since every host here bills the whole term at once.
  3. Renewal price, as printed on the same page.
  4. What is included: websites, storage, free domain, email and backups.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude 18% GST unless we say otherwise. Bluehost Starter and Hostinger Premium use the official dollar prices on Bluehost's US site and Hostinger's global site. Hostinger Single, MilesWeb, BigRock and GoDaddy's India plans are priced in rupees, so we converted them at ₹95 per dollar and marked them "about". Hostinger and MilesWeb state that their rupee prices exclude GST. For the others, check the GST line in the cart before you pay.

Cheapest web hosting per year in India: comparison table

MilesWeb Starter (India only) about $0.73/mo 36 months about $26 about $8.70 Not printed on plan card 1 10 GB NVMe
Hostinger Single (India only) about $0.73/mo 48 months about $35 about $8.70 about $3.04/mo (about $36.50/yr) 1 10 GB SSD
BigRock Standard about $0.73/mo Check the cart Shown in cart Depends on term about $4.31/mo (about $51.70/yr) 1 20 GB NVMe
GoDaddy Economy (India site, 1-year term) about $2.09/mo 12 months about $25 about $25 about $76/yr 1 25 GB
Bluehost Starter (US site) $3.99/mo 36 months $143.64 $47.88 $9.99/mo ($119.88/yr) 10 10 GB NVMe

What is the cost in Indian rupees? MilesWeb Starter is ₹69 a month (₹2,484 for 36 months, ₹828 a year). Hostinger Single is ₹69 a month on hostinger.com/in (₹3,312 for 48 months) and renews at ₹289. BigRock Standard is ₹69 and renews at ₹409 (₹4,908 a year). GoDaddy India's Economy plan is ₹199 a month (₹2,388 for one year) and renews at ₹7,188 a year. Bluehost India's Starter plan is ₹199 a month for 36 months (₹7,164) and renews at ₹349. All exclude 18% GST.

The average per year is the upfront amount divided by the years it covers. MilesWeb's about $26 covers 36 months and Hostinger's about $35 covers 48, so both work out to about $8.70 a year.

The first-year price is the light side of the scale; the renewal you pay every year after is what weighs on your budget.

Plan by plan: what under $1 a month really buys

MilesWeb Starter: lowest upfront bill

MilesWeb is an Indian host that sells in rupees, and its Starter plan works out to about $0.73 a month on a 36-month term. That is about $26 upfront. You get 1 website, 10 GB NVMe storage, daily backups and free SSL.

What you don't get: a free domain or email accounts. Those start on the Advance plan (about $1.04 a month, 15 GB, free domain for a year, 2 mailboxes).

The renewal price needs care. The Starter plan card does not print one, and the comparison table on the same page lists an about $3.04 a month renewal next to its about $1.36 Premium plan. Before paying, ask MilesWeb's chat to confirm the renewal price for your exact plan and term, and save that reply.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? On milesweb.in, Starter is ₹69 a month (₹2,484 for 36 months), Advance is ₹99 and Premium is ₹129, with ₹289 a month shown as Premium's renewal. Prices exclude 18% GST.

Hostinger Single: cheapest with a clear renewal price

Hostinger Single is sold only on Hostinger's India site. It works out to about $0.73 a month on the 48-month term, billed as about $35 upfront. It renews at about $3.04 a month, so from year five you pay about $36.50 a year before GST, about 4.2 times the promo rate.

You get 1 website, a free domain, 10 GB SSD storage, free weekly backups, 1 free mailbox and Hostinger's own hPanel instead of cPanel. Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

The next plan up matters if you plan a second site. Hostinger's global site doesn't list Single at all; its cheapest plan is Premium at $2.49 a month for 48 months ($119.52 upfront), with 3 websites, 20 GB, a free domain for a year and 2 mailboxes per site. It renews at $10.99 a month.

Hostinger pricing page in US dollars, checked October 2026, showing Premium at $2.49, Unlimited at $3.49 and Cloud Startup at $7.99 a month on 48-month terms

Hostinger's global page starts at Premium and prints the 48-month total and the renewal rate under every plan card.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? On hostinger.com/in, Single is ₹69 a month (₹3,312 for 48 months) and renews at ₹289, while Premium is ₹139 a month (₹6,672 for 48 months) and renews at ₹449. All exclude 18% GST.

BigRock Standard: cPanel and more email

BigRock prices its Linux hosting plans only in rupees. The Standard plan works out to about $0.73 a month and renews at about $4.31 a month (about $51.70 a year). It includes 1 website, 20 GB NVMe, 200 GB transfer, 10 email accounts, cPanel, daily backups and free Let's Encrypt SSL. You can pick an India or USA server.

The plan card does not print the term behind the headline rate, so check the cart to see which term it needs. The 30-day money-back guarantee does not apply to 1-month purchases.

This is the plan to consider if you want classic cPanel and several email IDs without paying for Google Workspace.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? On bigrock.in, Standard is ₹69 a month and renews at ₹409 a month (₹4,908 a year), plus 18% GST.

GoDaddy Economy: cheapest if you only want one year

GoDaddy's India cheap hosting page shows Economy at about $2.09 a month on a 1-year term. You pay about $25 today, and hosting renews at about $76 a year. It includes 1 website, 25 GB storage, unmetered bandwidth, a free domain and free email.

Two things to watch. First, GoDaddy India advertises plans starting at about $0.94 a month, but that rate needs a longer term. Second, the same page says SSL renews annually at about $63. Check whether a paid SSL sits in your cart; most other hosts here include free SSL.

GoDaddy's US site prices Economy in dollars on a three-year term, so the cheap one-year entry above is an India-site offer. Check the US page directly if you pay in dollars.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? On godaddy.com/en-in, Economy is ₹199 a month for one year (₹2,388), renews at ₹7,188 a year, plans start at ₹89 a month on longer terms, and SSL renews at ₹5,999. Add 18% GST.

Bluehost Starter: most websites per dollar

Bluehost's Starter plan is $3.99 a month for 36 months ($143.64 upfront) on its US site and renews at $9.99 a month. It is not the cheapest per year, but it allows 10 websites with 10 GB NVMe, a free domain for the first year and weekly backups.

Bluehost India sells the same plan for less (about $2.09 a month, about $75 for 36 months). At that price, three or four small sites on one Starter plan cost less per site than separate Single plans elsewhere.

Bluehost pricing page in US dollars, checked October 2026, showing Starter at $3.99, Business at $6.99 and eCommerce Essentials at $14.99 a month on 36-month terms

Bluehost's US page shows the 36-month promo price and the renewal rate right under each plan name.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? On bluehost.com/in, Starter is ₹199 a month for 36 months (₹7,164 upfront) and renews at ₹349 a month (₹4,188 a year), plus 18% GST.

Why the renewal price matters more than the offer

A website usually lives for years, so the fair comparison is total cost over four years, not month one. Here is what the entry plans cost over 48 months, before GST:

Plan How you buy 4-year cost (excl. GST) Cost per year after the offer
Hostinger Single (India only) One 48-month term about $35 about $36.50
MilesWeb Starter (India only) 36 months, then 1 year at renewal about $26 plus one year at the renewal price Not printed; confirm in writing
BigRock Standard (India only) 36 months at the promo rate, then 1 year at renewal about $78 (about $26 + about $52) about $51.70
Bluehost Starter (US site) 36 months, then 1 year at renewal $263.52 ($143.64 + $119.88) $119.88
GoDaddy Economy (India site) 1 year, then renew yearly about $252 (about $25 + 3 × about $76) about $76

What is the cost in Indian rupees? Over four years, Hostinger Single costs ₹3,312, MilesWeb Starter ₹2,484 plus one year at its renewal price, BigRock Standard ₹7,392 (₹2,484 + ₹4,908), Bluehost India Starter ₹11,352 (₹7,164 + ₹4,188) and GoDaddy India Economy ₹23,952 (₹2,388 + 3 × ₹7,188), all before 18% GST.

The BigRock row assumes a 36-month promo term; your cart may differ. MilesWeb does not print Starter's renewal price, so its four-year total depends on what support confirms. The Bluehost row uses the US-site price; on Bluehost India the same four years come to about $119.

The lesson: on the India sites, buying hosting one year at a time is the most expensive way to run a small site. GoDaddy's one-year offer looks cheapest in year one and ends up costing about seven times Hostinger's four-year deal.

Your real yearly cost: hosting, GST, domain and email

The hosting price is only one line on the bill. Your actual web hosting charges per year in India come from four parts.

Indian shop owner at a counter with a laptop, a wall calendar and rupee note stacks, with labels reading Hosting, GST, Domain and Email

Your real yearly bill has four parts, and after year one the hosting line is often not the biggest.

1. GST at 18%

Add 18% to every hosting price above if you buy in India. Hostinger Single's about $35 becomes about $41 at checkout, which is about $10.30 a year over four years. If you run a registered business, enter your GSTIN at checkout so you can claim input tax credit.

2. Domain renewal

Most "free domain" offers cover only the first year. After that, a .com renews at about $16 to $17 a year and a .in at about $9 to $12 at Indian registrars, before GST. Our domain name price guide compares registrars on renewal, which is where the real saving is.

3. Email

Hostinger Single gives 1 mailbox and MilesWeb Starter gives none. If you need team email, Zoho Mail's free plan works with your own domain; see our Zoho Mail free custom domain setup. Paid options like Google Workspace cost more per user each month, as our Google Workspace price guide shows.

4. Add-ons in the cart

Hosts often pre-tick add-ons such as paid SSL, extra backups, site security scanners or domain privacy. Untick anything you did not plan to buy. Free SSL is included with every plan in our table except where GoDaddy's cart shows a paid certificate.

Example yearly budget for a small blog on Hostinger Single (four-year term):

Item Per year
Hosting (about $35 ÷ 4) about $8.70
GST on hosting (18%) about $1.60
.in domain from year two about $9 to $12 + GST
Email $0 (1 free mailbox or Zoho free)
Total from year two About $21 to $25

What is the cost in Indian rupees? Hostinger Single is ₹3,312 for 48 months (about ₹3,908 with GST), which is ₹828 a year plus ₹149 GST. A .in domain renews at ₹850 to ₹1,160 and a .com at ₹1,480 to ₹1,600 before GST, so a small blog's total from year two is about ₹2,000 to ₹2,350.

Cheap hosting for small business in India: what not to skip

Cheap is fine for a brochure site with a contact form. A few features are worth paying a little more for, though.

  • Backups you can restore yourself. MilesWeb and BigRock list daily backups; Hostinger Single and Bluehost Starter list weekly. A week of lost orders or form entries hurts more than an extra 30 cents a month.
  • Server location close to your visitors. BigRock lets you choose India or USA. For Hostinger, pick the closest data centre during setup.
  • Business email on your domain. "[email protected]" looks more trustworthy than a Gmail ID on a visiting card.
  • Room for one more site. If you might add a second site, compare Hostinger Premium (3 sites) or Bluehost Starter (10 sites) instead of buying two Single plans.
  • UPI and GST invoices. Pay with UPI or card, and make sure the invoice shows your business details.

Running an online store with daily orders? Shared hosting at under $1 a month will struggle during sales. Plan for a higher shared plan or a VPS from day one.

Free and almost-free alternatives

If about $9 a year is still too much, you have honest options:

  • Static sites for free. A portfolio or simple brochure site built in plain HTML can run free on GitHub Pages (opens in new tab). No WordPress, no database, but no hosting bill either.
  • A free cloud server. Oracle Cloud's Always Free tier gives you a real Linux server in Mumbai or Hyderabad. It takes setup skill, but it costs nothing. Our Oracle Cloud free tier guide shows the signup and the "out of capacity" fix.
  • A cheap VPS for many sites. If you outgrow shared hosting, an unmanaged VPS gives you far more RAM for the money. Our Contabo VPS review explains the trade-offs.

Free hosting with ads or a subdomain like yoursite.freehost.com is fine for practice. Don't use it for a business.

How to avoid renewal shock

  1. Buy the longest term you are sure about. If the site will run for years, 48 months on Hostinger or 36 months on MilesWeb locks the low rate.
  2. Write down the renewal date and price. Put a reminder 30 days before the term ends.
  3. Turn off auto-renew if you plan to move. Most hosts let you switch it off in billing settings.
  4. Ask for a retention offer. Before renewing, contact support and ask if a better renewal price is available. Some hosts offer one; none of them promise it.
  5. Move to a new promo if it is worth it. Migrating a small WordPress site takes an hour or two, and a new host's offer can beat your renewal price. Count the effort before you jump.
  6. Get renewal promises in writing. Chat transcripts or emails are proof if the invoice later disagrees.

Which cheap host should you pick?

Hand choosing between three black server boxes of different sizes on a table, labelled One site, Few sites and Many sites, with rupee coins beside each

Pick the plan size by how many sites you will run, not by the smallest headline price.

  • Lowest upfront bill for a three-year site: MilesWeb Starter (about $26), after confirming its renewal price in writing.
  • Lowest cost with a clear, printed renewal price: Hostinger Single on the 48-month term.
  • You want cPanel and 10 email IDs: BigRock Standard.
  • You only want to pay for one year: GoDaddy Economy on its India site, with a plan to move before renewal.
  • You run several small sites: Bluehost Starter (10 websites) or Hostinger Premium (3 websites). Premium costs less upfront ($119.52 against $143.64), but Starter renews lower ($9.99 against $10.99 a month).
  • You pay in US dollars: Hostinger Premium on the global site. If you pay in rupees, MilesWeb Starter or Hostinger Single is cheaper; in USD neither is sold, and Premium's about $29.88 a year beats Bluehost Starter's $47.88.

The renewal math to do before you pay for cheap hosting

  • MilesWeb Starter and Hostinger Single tie as the cheapest web hosting per year in India: about $8.70 a year each before GST, on 3 and 4 year terms, rupee-only.
  • Paying in USD? Neither is sold to you; Hostinger Premium at about $29.88 a year (48 months) is the cheapest plan here.
  • The $0.73 a month headline needs a long upfront term, and renewals run 3 to 6 times higher.
  • One year at a time costs the most: GoDaddy India's Economy is about $25 in year one, then about $76 a year.
  • Budget for 18% GST, a domain renewal (about $9 or more a year for .in) and email on top of hosting.
  • Untick pre-ticked add-ons, check that SSL is free, and get any renewal promise in writing.

Lock in a long term, then fix your domain bill

Pay for three or four years upfront and the cheapest web hosting per year in India costs under $9 a year before GST, with MilesWeb Starter and Hostinger Single tied. Hostinger prints its about $3.04 a month renewal clearly; get MilesWeb's in writing. If you pay in USD, those plans aren't sold, so start with Hostinger Premium ($2.49 a month on 48 months). Avoid one-year terms unless you plan to move, and always check the renewal line before you pay.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the cheapest web hosting per year in India?

MilesWeb Starter and Hostinger Single are the cheapest per year in October 2026, and both are sold only in rupees. MilesWeb charges about $26 for 36 months and Hostinger about $35 for 48 months, so both come to about $8.70 a year before 18% GST. Hostinger renews at about $3.04 a month; MilesWeb does not print Starter's renewal price, so confirm it first. If you pay in USD, neither plan is sold on the global sites, and Hostinger Premium ($119.52 for 48 months) is the cheapest per year.

How much do web hosting charges per year in India cost?

For a single small website on the India sites, shared hosting costs roughly $8 to $25 a year during the offer, before GST. After the offer, renewals on entry plans range from about $36.50 (Hostinger Single) to about $76 (GoDaddy Economy) a year. Add a domain at about $9 or more a year and 18% GST to get the real total.

Why is hosting under $1 a month so expensive at renewal?

The about $0.73 rate is a promotional price that hosts use to win new customers, and it only applies to the first long term you pay upfront. Renewals go back to the regular rate, which is about $3.04 a month on Hostinger Single and about $4.31 a month on BigRock Standard. Hosts make their profit on those later years.

Is 1-year hosting cheaper than 3 or 4 years?

No. A 1-year term costs less upfront but far more per year. GoDaddy Economy is about $25 for one year on its India site, while Hostinger Single works out to about $8.70 a year on its 48-month term. Short terms only make sense if you are testing an idea or plan to move hosts within a year.

Does cheap hosting include a free domain?

Sometimes, usually for the first year only. GoDaddy Economy, Bluehost Starter, Hostinger Premium and MilesWeb Advance include a free domain for a year, and Hostinger's India page lists a free domain on Single too. MilesWeb Starter does not include one. After year one, the domain renews at the registrar's normal price, around $9 to $12 for .in and $16 to $17 for .com at Indian registrars, before GST.

Is GST included in Indian hosting prices?

Usually not. Hostinger says its prices are listed without GST, and MilesWeb says its prices do not include 18% GST. Expect 18% to be added at checkout on every host in this comparison. Registered businesses can enter their GSTIN at checkout to get a GST invoice and claim input tax credit.

What is the best cheap hosting for a small business in India?

For most small business websites, Hostinger Premium or BigRock Standard is a good balance. Hostinger Premium ($2.49 a month for 48 months on the global site) covers 3 sites with email, and BigRock Standard gives cPanel, daily backups and 10 email accounts. Pick the one whose renewal price you can live with for years.

Can I host a website for free in India?

Yes, with limits. Static sites made of HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be hosted free on GitHub Pages. Oracle Cloud's Always Free tier gives you a free Linux server in Mumbai or Hyderabad, but you manage everything yourself. Free hosts with ads or subdomains are fine for practice, not for a business.

Can I switch hosts when my renewal price goes up?

Yes. You can move your website to a new host with a fresh promo offer before your renewal date. A small WordPress site usually takes an hour or two using a migration plugin or the new host's free migration service. Keep your domain at a separate registrar so moving hosts never puts your domain at risk.
