The best smart watch with SIM under 5000 rupees right now is the boAt Wanderer Smart at ₹4,999 on boAt's own store (Candy Pink colour), because it pairs a 4G SIM with real GPS, geofencing, video calls and an IP68 rating from a brand with service centres across India. On a tighter budget, the PunnkFunnk Safeguard Kids Watch costs ₹2,599 on Amazon.in, but it does not work on Jio.
That Jio point is the trap most buyers fall into. Cheap SIM watches on Amazon often run on 2G or skip VoLTE, and Jio has no 2G network, so a Jio SIM simply will not make calls in them. Below are the watches that clear that test, checked on Amazon.in and each brand's own store on 30 October 2026, plus the setup steps and monthly SIM cost nobody mentions on the product page.
Quick answer: The best smart watch with SIM under 5000 in India is the boAt Wanderer Smart (₹4,999, 4G SIM plus Wi-Fi, GPS, geofencing, video calls, IP68). The PunnkFunnk Safeguard Kids Watch (₹2,599) is the cheapest 4G pick with GPS but does not support Jio or BSNL. If you can stretch, the Noise Jr. Explorer 2 (₹5,999) adds call whitelisting and school mode.
How we picked these watches
We looked at every SIM watch that boAt, Noise, Sekyo and PunnkFunnk list on their own Indian stores and kept the ones that pass five rules:
- 4G, not 2G. A 2G watch will not work on Jio at all, and 2G coverage on other networks is shrinking. We checked each brand's product page for "4G" or "VoLTE".
- Its own SIM slot. Bluetooth calling watches need your phone nearby, so they are not on this list.
- Location tracking parents can use, through the brand's companion app.
- Priced at or near ₹5,000 on Amazon.in or the brand store on 30 October 2026. Two stretch picks cost more, and we say so clearly.
- Specs published by the brand, so the battery, water rating and warranty below come from the official page, not a reseller.
Battery and tracking figures are the brands' own claims. We have not run lab tests for this list.

A 4G kids watch lets a child call home and share location without carrying a phone.
Smart watch with SIM under 5000: comparison table
Prices are Amazon.in selling prices seen on 30 October 2026 (GST included). The boAt Wanderer Smart is not listed on Amazon.in or Flipkart, so its price is from boAt's own store on the same day. Amazon and Flipkart prices change often, sometimes by ₹500 or more during sales.
| Watch | Price | Network | Location tracking | Water rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| boAt Wanderer Smart | ₹4,999 (Candy Pink, boAt store); ₹5,999 other colours, out of stock | 4G SIM + Wi-Fi | Built-in GPS, geofence | IP68 | Best overall |
| PunnkFunnk Safeguard Kids Watch | ₹2,599 | 4G (not Jio or BSNL) | GPS + LBS + Wi-Fi | IP67 | Lowest price with GPS |
| Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G | ₹5,468 | 4G SIM | LBS (about 100 m) | Water resistant, no IP number | Remote monitoring features |
| Noise Jr. Explorer 2 (stretch) | ₹5,999 (MRP ₹7,999) | 4G VoLTE + Wi-Fi | GPS, geofence | IP68 | Call whitelisting, school mode |
| boAt Sailor Nav (stretch) | ₹5,999 (MRP ₹7,999) | 4G nano SIM | GPS, geofence | IP67 | Wait for a sale |
All five support two-way voice calls and SOS alerts to parents. None of them is a full smartphone: no WhatsApp, no browser, no app store.
The best 4G SIM watches under ₹5,000 (and two stretch picks)
1. boAt Wanderer Smart: best overall
The Wanderer Smart is the most complete kids watch you can buy for ₹4,999. It takes a 4G SIM, also connects to home Wi-Fi, has built-in GPS with geofenced safe zones, and supports both voice and video calls through its 2 MP front camera.
- Price note: ₹4,999 only in Candy Pink on boAt's store; Sunshine Yellow and Sky Blue cost ₹5,999 and were both out of stock on 30 October 2026. The store's FESTIVE400 coupon brought Candy Pink to ₹4,599. We could not find it on Amazon.in or Flipkart.
- Display: 1.4 inch TFT
- Battery: up to 2 days per boAt's FAQ; about 2.5 hours to charge
- Build: IP68 water, sweat and dust resistance
- Warranty: 1 year, plus 3 extra months when bought on boAt's own site
Buy it if you want GPS accuracy, a durable build and an easy warranty claim. Skip it if your child dislikes pink, since the other colours cost ₹1,000 more and were out of stock when we checked.
2. PunnkFunnk Safeguard Kids Watch: lowest price with GPS
At ₹2,599 on Amazon.in (₹3,078 on PunnkFunnk's own store), this is the cheapest watch here that claims GPS, LBS and Wi-Fi tracking together, plus video calls, an SOS button, safe-zone alerts and IP67.
Two things to know before you order. First, the product is sold as a "5G" watch, but PunnkFunnk's own FAQ talks about 4G and 5G calling without naming any 5G spec, so treat it as a 4G watch. Second, the same FAQ says it works on all networks except Jio and BSNL. If your family uses Jio, this one is out.
- Network: 4G on Airtel or Vi only
- Tracking: GPS + LBS + Wi-Fi
- Water rating: IP67 (splash and rain, not swimming)
- Reviews: only three on the brand site, so there is little long-term feedback
Buy it if you have an Airtel or Vi SIM and ₹3,000 is your ceiling. Skip it if you use Jio or want a brand with wide service support.
3. Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G: most parental monitoring
The Sekyo Carepal Pro costs ₹5,468 on Amazon.in and on Sekyo's own site, so it is ₹468 over budget. It supports 4G audio calls to any number, video calls only to phones paired with the watch, an SOS button that alerts up to three parent numbers, and seven built-in learning games.
Read the tracking line carefully. Sekyo's page says location comes from LBS (mobile tower) technology with about 100 metre accuracy, and points buyers to a different GPS model for higher accuracy. That is fine for "is she at school?", not for "which gate is he at?".
- Battery: 700 mAh
- Extras: classroom do-not-disturb mode, remote photo and background audio monitoring
- Warranty: 6 months
Buy it if you want a classroom mode and tight control over who can video call. Skip it if you need GPS-level accuracy or a full year of warranty.
4. Noise Jr. Explorer 2: the stretch pick with whitelisting
The Explorer 2 costs ₹5,999 on Amazon.in (MRP ₹7,999), the same as on gonoise.com, so it is ₹999 over budget. It is the most parent-friendly watch here. Calls only go to and from contacts you approve, school mode switches off distractions during class, and GPS tracking shows up on Google Maps inside the app.
- Display: 1.4 inch IPS LCD, 240 x 240
- Battery: 950 mAh, the largest here (Noise does not publish a days figure)
- Connectivity: 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 2 MP camera for video calls
- Water rating: IP68
- App support: Android 7.0+ and iOS 16.0+
- Age: Noise says it is built for children roughly 6 to 12
One line in Noise's product description mentions "E-SIM support", while every other spec and FAQ on the page talks about a 4G SIM. Ask Noise support which SIM it takes before you buy, because Indian operators rarely issue eSIMs for kids' watches.
Buy it if a sale brings it near ₹5,000. Skip it if your limit is strict.
5. boAt Sailor Nav: wait for a sale
The Sailor Nav is boAt's newer 4G kids watch, priced at ₹5,999 on Amazon.in (MRP ₹7,999). It uses a 4G nano SIM, a 1.44 inch IPS screen, GPS with geofencing, a "restrict unknown calls" setting, a 2 MP camera and a 600 mAh battery rated for up to 3 days.
It loses the IP68 rating of the Wanderer Smart (IP67 here) and costs ₹1,000 more than the Candy Pink Wanderer Smart. We would only pick it during a sale that brings it under ₹5,000.
What to check before buying a smartwatch for kids
Every listing says "4G, GPS, SOS". These eight checks tell you whether the watch will actually work for your family.
4G with VoLTE, not 2G
Jio runs only 4G and 5G, with no 2G or 3G fallback, so a 2G watch cannot place a call on a Jio SIM. Even on 4G watches, voice calls go over VoLTE, so the watch must support it. Look for "4G VoLTE" in the specs, then confirm your operator in the FAQ. PunnkFunnk, for example, excludes Jio and BSNL on its own page.
GPS versus LBS tracking
GPS uses satellites and is usually accurate to a few metres outdoors. LBS (location based service) guesses position from nearby mobile towers, so it can be off by 100 metres to 1 km. Sekyo states these ranges openly; many Amazon listings do not. If the page says "LBS" or "AGPS/LBS" without "built-in GPS", expect rough locations.

Geofencing alerts the parent's phone when the watch leaves a set safe zone such as the school.
Who can call the watch
Call whitelisting means only numbers you approve can reach the watch or be dialled from it. The Noise Explorer 2 and boAt Sailor Nav both offer this. Without it, a 4G watch is a phone number anyone can ring, including spam and scam callers. Our guide to the digital arrest scam shows why unknown callers are the risk to block first.
SOS and geofence alerts
SOS should call or alert more than one parent, and the alert should include live location. Geofencing lets you draw a safe zone (home, school, tuition) and get a push notification when the watch leaves it. Test both on day one, not on the day you need them.
School mode
Most schools allow kids watches only if they cannot distract in class. A school or classroom mode switches off games and incoming calls during set hours while keeping SOS active. Noise and Sekyo both list it; ask the school before buying any SIM watch.
Battery life
Kids 4G watches drain fast because the SIM and GPS are always on. Claims here range from 2 days (boAt Wanderer Smart) to 3 days (boAt Sailor Nav). Plan on charging every night, like a phone.
Water rating
IP67 and IP68 cover rain, sweat and a dropped watch in a bucket. Neither covers swimming pools. Take the watch off before swimming class.
Camera and remote monitoring
Some watches let parents take a photo or listen to background audio without the child knowing. Sekyo advertises this openly. It is useful in an emergency, but talk to your child about it, and check the brand's privacy policy for where photos and location data are stored. Our guide on how to check if your phone is hacked covers the same kind of app permissions on the parent's phone.
Which SIM to put in the watch, and what it costs
The watch needs its own SIM with an active calling and data pack. It does not share your phone's number.
- Buy the SIM in a parent's name. Indian operators issue SIM cards only to adults, so the KYC and the number belong to you. Keep the SIM linked to your own identity documents.
- Use a nano SIM unless the brand says otherwise. The boAt Sailor Nav page asks for a 4G nano SIM.
- Activate VoLTE. Put the SIM in a phone first, make one test call and check that data works. If the watch later fails to call, the problem is the watch or settings, not the SIM.
- Pick the cheapest pack with calls and a little data. Location updates and app sync use small amounts of data, but video calls use far more. Check the lowest validity pack with calls and data on your operator's site or app, since tariffs change.
- Turn off the SIM PIN before inserting it, or the watch may not read it.
So the real cost is the watch plus one prepaid pack every month or quarter. Budget that before you compare a ₹2,599 watch with a ₹4,999 one.

Check that the watch supports your operator, especially Jio, before you put the SIM in.
Smart watch with SIM under 3000: what you really get
Under ₹3,000, most SIM watches are 2G. Sekyo's own S2 Pro is a good example of the honest version: ₹2,789 on Amazon.in and Sekyo's store, 2G calls on an Airtel or Vi SIM only, LBS tracking with 100 m to 1 km accuracy, an SOS button and a classroom mode, with a 6 month warranty.
That can still work for a younger child on Airtel or Vi who needs only calls and a rough location. But 2G coverage is shrinking, Jio will never work, and you get no video calls. On 30 October 2026 the PunnkFunnk Safeguard was actually cheaper on Amazon.in at ₹2,599, and it moves you to 4G and GPS, provided you are not on Jio.
Be careful with unbranded Amazon listings that promise "4G, 5G, GPS, video call" for about ₹1,200 to ₹2,000. Many skip the network list, have low ratings and no service centre. If the listing does not name supported operators, ask the seller before buying.
Want a smartwatch without phone for yourself?
Most "calling smartwatches" sold to adults use Bluetooth calling, which means your phone must stay within about 10 metres. They cannot make calls on their own. Our best smartwatch under 2000 guide covers those.
A true adult smartwatch without phone needs either a physical SIM slot or an eSIM. Branded adult watches with a SIM slot are rare in India. Fire-Boltt launched its Dream "wristphone" with a nano SIM, but we could not find it on Fire-Boltt's own store in October 2026, so we cannot confirm its current price or support. eSIM watches from Apple, Samsung and Google cost several times ₹5,000 and need a matching phone and operator plan.
For an adult under ₹5,000, a basic 4G feature phone plus a Bluetooth calling watch is usually the cheaper and more reliable setup.
How to set up a kids 4G watch in 6 steps
- Activate the SIM in a phone. Make a call, send an SMS and open a web page to confirm voice, VoLTE and data work.
- Remove the SIM PIN in the phone's SIM settings, then power off and move the SIM to the watch.
- Charge the watch fully before first use; GPS setup drains the battery fast.
- Install the brand's app on the parent's phone and scan the QR code on the watch or box to bind it.
- Add contacts and turn on whitelisting, so only family numbers can call.
- Set safe zones, SOS numbers and school mode hours, then walk around the block with the watch and check the app shows the right location.
If the watch shows signal but cannot call, ask your operator to confirm VoLTE is active on that SIM. If it shows no signal, check the brand's supported network list.
Watches we left out, and why
- Noise Scout: listed at ₹4,999 on gonoise.com, but out of stock on 30 October 2026.
- boAt Wanderer (original): ₹5,999 and out of stock on boAt's store; the Wanderer Smart replaces it.
- Sekyo Smart Watch Phone 4G (₹3,290): out of stock on Sekyo's store.
- Sekyo S2 Pro (₹2,789): 2G only, covered in the under ₹3,000 section above.
- imoo, WachMe and other premium kids watches: good feature lists, but listed well above ₹5,000.
Which one should you buy?
- Best overall under ₹5,000: boAt Wanderer Smart (₹4,999, Candy Pink)
- Airtel or Vi family on a tight budget: PunnkFunnk Safeguard Kids Watch (₹2,599)
- Classroom mode and video calls only to parents: Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G (₹5,468)
- Can stretch for whitelisting and school mode: Noise Jr. Explorer 2 (₹5,999)
- Patient buyer: boAt Sailor Nav, only on sale
Keep the watch's invoice and IMEI with the box. If it is lost or stolen, the same rules as a phone apply; our guide on blocking a lost phone with CEIR explains the process, and you should also ask your operator to block the SIM. For spare charging on school trips, a small pick from our best power bank under 1000 list works with most magnetic watch cables.
Before you hand a SIM watch to your child
- Our top smart watch with SIM under 5000 is the boAt Wanderer Smart at ₹4,999 in Candy Pink: 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, geofence, video calls and IP68.
- Jio has no 2G network, so 2G watches and models that exclude Jio (like the PunnkFunnk Safeguard) will not call on a Jio SIM.
- "LBS tracking" means tower-based location, often 100 m to 1 km off; look for built-in GPS.
- Set up call whitelisting, SOS contacts and school mode the day the watch arrives, then test them on a walk.
- Budget for a monthly or quarterly prepaid pack on top of the watch price.
- Expect to charge a kids 4G watch every night; claims here are 2 to 3 days.
Our pick for a Jio, Airtel or Vi family
For most families, the boAt Wanderer Smart is the smart watch with SIM under 5000 to buy in November 2026: 4G plus Wi-Fi, real GPS, video calls and IP68 at ₹4,999. Choose the PunnkFunnk Safeguard only if you are on Airtel or Vi and need to stay under ₹3,000, and wait for a sale on the Noise Jr. Explorer 2 if whitelisting and school mode matter most. Check the live price and supported networks before you pay.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is the best smart watch with SIM under 5000 in India?
The boAt Wanderer Smart is the best smart watch with SIM under 5000 in November 2026. At ₹4,999 on boAt's store (Candy Pink), it supports a 4G SIM and Wi-Fi, built-in GPS, geofencing, video calls through a 2 MP camera and IP68 protection. Other colours cost ₹5,999 and were out of stock on 30 October 2026, so check the colour before you pay.
Does a Jio SIM work in a kids smartwatch?
Only if the watch supports 4G VoLTE and the brand lists Jio as compatible. Jio has no 2G or 3G network, so 2G watches cannot make calls on it. Some 4G watches also exclude Jio; PunnkFunnk's FAQ says its Safeguard watch works on all networks except Jio and BSNL. Always check the supported operator list first.
Can a kids smartwatch work without a phone?
Yes. A 4G kids smartwatch has its own SIM, so it makes and receives calls without any phone nearby. The parent's phone is only needed to run the companion app for tracking, contacts and settings. This is different from Bluetooth calling watches, which only act as a speaker for a phone within about 10 metres.
What is the difference between GPS and LBS tracking?
GPS uses satellites and is usually accurate to a few metres outdoors. LBS estimates location from mobile towers, so it can be 100 metres to 1 km off. Sekyo states this range for its LBS watches. For a child walking to school or tuition, built-in GPS gives a far more useful location than LBS alone.
Which SIM is best for a kids smartwatch?
Pick the operator with the strongest 4G signal at your home and your child's school, and make sure the watch supports it. Buy the SIM in a parent's name, activate VoLTE, test a call in a phone, and remove the SIM PIN before inserting it. A low-cost prepaid pack with calls and a little data is enough.
Is there a good smart watch with SIM under 3000?
There are few good 4G options under ₹3,000. Most watches at this price are 2G, such as the Sekyo S2 Pro at ₹2,789, which works only on Airtel or Vi with LBS tracking. The PunnkFunnk Safeguard at ₹2,599 on Amazon.in adds 4G and GPS but excludes Jio and BSNL. Avoid unbranded listings that do not name supported networks.
How long does a 4G kids smartwatch battery last?
Expect one to three days. boAt rates the Wanderer Smart at up to 2 days and the Sailor Nav at up to 3 days. The SIM and GPS stay active all day, and video calls drain the battery quickly. Most families charge the watch every night along with their phones, so plan for that routine.
Can my child use WhatsApp on these watches?
No. These kids watches run the brand's own simple software, not Android with an app store, so WhatsApp, YouTube and browsers are not available. Calls, voice messages and video calls go through the SIM or the brand's own app. That is deliberate: it keeps the watch focused on safety and contact with family.
Are kids smartwatches allowed in Indian schools?
It depends on the school. Many schools ban phones but allow watches if they cannot distract in class, which is why school mode matters. Noise and Sekyo both offer a mode that blocks games and calls during set hours while keeping SOS active. Ask the school's policy before you buy any SIM watch.
