What is the cost in Indian rupees? Cloudways bills in US dollars only, with no India price list. At ₹95 per dollar, "up to $200 off per month" is up to ₹19,000 a month saved on the biggest servers. Most bloggers will save ₹2,000 to ₹8,000 over the two months.

Cloudways has been owned by DigitalOcean since 2022, and the logo now reads "Cloudways by DigitalOcean". This isn't a reseller running a flash sale. It's a large hosting company's official yearly promotion.

What the 80% off actually covers

The 80% comes off your monthly invoice for the first two months, on everything you run during that time. That includes the server, extra servers you launch, and paid add-ons like Cloudflare Enterprise or Rackspace email.

Three details matter more than the headline number:

• It's two billing months, not two calendar months of "free". Cloudways bills monthly in arrears, so you pay 20% of what you used in month one and month two.
• Month three is full price. There's no "renews at" trap like shared hosts, because there was never a multi-year price. You simply go back to the normal hourly rate.
• Backups and extra bandwidth are billed on top. Offsite backups cost $0.033 per GB and can't be switched off. On a small blog that's a few cents a month.

Cloudways Flexible prices with the discount

Flexible is the classic Cloudways product and the one most people buy: you pick a cloud provider and a server size, then install as many WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel or PHP apps as the server can handle. Unlimited websites and unlimited visits come on every plan.

Prices on other cloud providers

Vultr costs the same as DigitalOcean at every size ($14, $28, $54, $99) but uses SSD instead of NVMe storage. Linode matches on the two smaller plans and costs a little more on the bigger ones ($59 for 4GB, $105 for 8GB).

AWS and Google Cloud cost more and vary by region. On AWS, the 1GB server starts at $20.56 a month and the 2GB at $38.56, and the free trial doesn't include AWS or Google Cloud. Unless a client insists on AWS, DigitalOcean or Vultr gives you the most server for the money.

What you really pay in the first year

This is the number most deal posts skip. The discount covers months one and two, and months three to twelve are at the normal price. Here's the honest first-year total.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? The rupee column uses ₹95 per dollar plus 18% GST, the standard rate on imported digital services. Without GST, the Small server's first year is about ₹27,660. Add a few rupees a month for backups.

Put plainly: the Black Friday deal saves you about two months of hosting, not a year of it. That's still a good reason to switch now rather than in January, especially because the free migration means the move itself costs nothing.

The 80% discount also covers the three newer Cloudways products. Each one is built for a different kind of project.

Choose the product by what you run. Flexible suits most WordPress sites; the others are specialist tools.

Cloudways Autonomous (autoscaling WordPress)

Autonomous is fully managed WordPress on autoscaling infrastructure, aimed at busy WooCommerce stores, course sites and anything that gets sudden traffic spikes. Cloudflare Enterprise, Object Cache Pro with Relay, malware protection and unlimited offsite backups are included.

Each plan hosts one website with unmetered visits. Extra disk is $1 per GB, extra bandwidth $0.04 per GB, and autoscaling beyond the baseline costs $0.07 to $0.12 per server per hour, depending on the plan.

What is the cost in Indian rupees? At ₹95 per dollar, Growth is about ₹1,900 a month during the deal and ₹9,405 after, before GST.

Cloudways Velocity (Node.js hosting)

Velocity is managed Node.js hosting with Git-based deploys, no cold starts, enterprise CDN, DDoS and malware protection. Starter costs $20 a month (2GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 5 apps), which is $4 during the deal. Professional is $30 (4GB, 8 apps) and the popular Growth plan is $50 (8GB, 4 vCPU, 14 apps). Cloudways Managed AI Agents

This is the newest product: a managed server that runs one AI agent (OpenClaw or Hermes) and connects to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or DigitalOcean models. Scout costs $9.99 a month (1 vCPU, 2GB RAM), Operator $19.99, Squad $39.99 and Swarm $79.99. There's no free trial for AI Agents yet, so the Black Friday price is the cheap way to test one. What is the cost in Indian rupees? Scout is about ₹190 a month during the deal and ₹950 after, before GST.

Which Cloudways plan should you pick

Pick the smallest server that fits today. Cloudways lets you scale a server up in a few clicks later, so paying for headroom you don't use is wasted money.

For an Indian audience, pick a server in India. Cloudways says it has 50+ data centres across its five cloud providers, and several are in India:

Free migration: how it works

During Black Friday, Cloudways offers unlimited free managed migrations, done by its own engineers, from any web host. Normally only the first site is free, so if you have several sites on shared hosting, this is the time to move all of them.

You request the migration from your Cloudways dashboard after launching a server, share access to your old host, and the team copies the site. You then point your domain's DNS to the new server. One warning: migration covers your website, not your email. If your email lives on your old shared host's cPanel, set up email somewhere else before you cancel the old plan. Zoho Mail's free plan for custom domains is the cheapest fix.

Paying from India: cards, GST and billing

Cloudways accepts Visa, Mastercard and Amex credit or debit cards, and PayPal. UPI isn't an option. Indian debit cards need international and online transactions switched on in your bank app first.

A few billing rules worth knowing before you pay:

• Monthly, usage-based billing. On DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode the hourly rate is the monthly price divided by 672 hours, and a full month is capped at the listed price. Delete a server after 10 days and you pay for 10 days.
• No yearly plan. You can pre-load your Cloudways wallet with about 12 months of credit if you want an annual-style setup.
• Tax depends on your billing country. Prices exclude tax, and Cloudways applies tax based on your billing address. Budget for 18% GST in India. Registered businesses can submit a GSTIN for exemption on future invoices.
• Stopping a server doesn't stop billing. Only deleting it does.
• Bandwidth overage costs $0.02 per GB on DigitalOcean and Linode, so going over is cheap.

Who should skip Cloudways

Cloudways isn't for everyone, even at 80% off. Skip it if:

• You want the lowest possible yearly bill. Shared hosting on a long term costs less than ₹200 a month in India. Cloudways at full price starts around ₹1,330 a month before GST.
• You need a free domain or free email. Neither is included. Buy a domain separately (see how to buy a domain name) and use Zoho or Google Workspace for email.
• You can't pay in dollars. No UPI, no rupee billing.
